Admissions

Thorndon Primary School caters for children aged from 4 to 11 years from Thorndon, Stoke Ash, Wickham Skeith, Thornham Magna, Thornham Parva and Thwaite. If class sizes allow, we welcome applications from children outside the catchment area.

Thorndon Primary School converted to an academy in January 2023 and is now responsible for its own in-year admissions.

If you wish to apply for a place in our Reception class for September, you will need to complete an application form and submit this to Suffolk County Council. SCC also deal with admissions to secondary school for Year 7.

If you are applying for a place after September, all applications for Year 1 to Year 6 (including Reception) must be made direct to Thorndon Primary School.

From September 2023, the Published Admission Number (PAN) is 12 pupils.

All children can attend school full-time in the September following their 4th birthday.
