Endeavour Class

We are the oldest children in the school and we have responsibilities as monitors to help with the everyday running of the school and care for the younger children.

Endeavour class have learnt about different computer entrepreneurs and, inspired by Jimmy Wales, we edited each other's work to create our own web page in the the style of a "Endeavourpedia' entry.

 Endeavour’s teachers:

  • Mrs Evans teaches lovely literacy, amazing art and many more subjects.
  • Mrs Allmey teaches marvellous maths, incredible I.C.T and super science.
  • Mrs Gilson teaches magical music on Wednesdays.
  • We also have T.As (teaching assistants) who always help with our work.

Collective Worship:

At Thorndon school, collective worship is all about making assemblies fun and sometimes the collective ambassadors create their own assemblies.

Each half term Thorndon school has a different theme for assemblies. This term the theme is courage. Assemblies mostly contain an introduction, a story (with acting) and ending with a prayer. Assemblies are mostly held in the church but if the weather is too cold we have assemblies in Endeavour class.

In Endeavour we get the opportunity to take part in many school trips, this is a taster of just a few of the trips we have been involved with this year..

Gymnastics trip:

What I enjoyed about the gymnastics centre trip was learning how to do a handstand. I also liked jumping into the foam pit. It was quite hard walking along the beam. It was really fun being a monkey on the bar over the foam pit. I really enjoyed visiting the gymnastic centre.

Netball tournament:

We recently took part in a netball tournament, at Framlingham college. There were lots of different schools taking part in the tournament. We had to play lots of hard rounds of Netball, as the rounds flew past we got better and better! At the end of the tournament we came 4th! We all got certificates and sweets! It was a great day.

Tag Rugby:

Tag Rugby is one of the best trips we have ever been on.  We went to Framlingham high school to do this awesome tournament.  We all had fun even when we did not win. We came 4th out of 5. We were so unlucky. We were very happy because we were having fun and working as a team.

Year 6 Aylmerton residential:

This was the best school trip ever. We went to Cromer beach then went on a mud walk, crossing the river in knee high water was the best.
